<description>The only time I had ever had respect for John Kerry was in 2001, when the media jumped on the bandwagon of the idea that all good Americans outside Arizona, and especially Red Sox fans, were supposed to root for the Yankees in the World Series as a way of somehow expiating the horror of 9/11. Tim Russert asked Kerry on Meet the Press if he intended to put aside his Red Sox fandom and root for the Yankees, and (much to Russert's suprise) Kerry replied, "I cannot do it." Giuliani's new slogan can be "Rudy - even more obnoxious than John Kerry."</description>
