But this is just a distraction. What I wanted to point out was the gall of Rod "I no longer implicitly trust governmental institutions, including the military -- neither in their honesty nor their competence" Dreher in commenting on someone elses political maturity. Yes, nyx, I resented that.

"They murder, thieve, and rape at 10X the white rate and sing songs about how awesome all of that is. Do you deny these things?

Yes. Blacks murder at 7x the rate of whites and rape at roughly 6x. Robbery rates I cannot find. As for the percentage of black offenders who "sing songs about how awesome all of that is" I'm also at a loss (the DOJ keeps no such statistics) but I suspect it's rather low.

So is the case closed? Are young black men "racist, violent and uncivilized"? In 2004, 184 (ages 18-24) in one hundred thousand committed murder (again, unknown how many of them then wrote songs). That's .18%, or .9%, or (extra generously) 1%. Does 1% make "They"?

I have much more reason to hate them, as a group, but I don't, though I find their collective savagery disturbing. After all, they're racist, violent, and uncivilized; I'm none of those things, nor are my white educated peers. They murder, thieve, and rape at 10X the white rate and sing songs about how awesome all of that is. Do you deny these things? Case closed.

"utter incivility among the legions of fatherless black adolescents..."

But they're uncivil to you, Mr. Roach, because they hate you, as you hate them.

Roach, you're generally right, but I wouldn't expect even a Cosby, who's been saying a lot of what you want to hear, to publicly assent to the accuracy of the IQ data, let alone an Obama. Although apparently accurate, this conclusion is still distinctly radioactive, and Obama seems content to say as little as possible about anything.

So much for the "reality-based community," I suppose.

I don't viscerally dislike Obama the way I dislike Hilary, but he does not really have the courage that only a black politician could effectively deploy to shut down the Sharptons and Jacksons and other race hustlers of the Democratic Party. He has said nothing about ending affirmative action, the toxicity of black culture, the fact that the achievement gap isn't going anywhere because of IQ, that Mexican illegals are taking jobs from blacks who could make a blue collar living without the wage pressure of mass immigration, and the relative unimportance of racism in creating problems for blacks today in America. So he is, if not a coward, just a regular politician with greater rhetorical skill at employing generalities than the average candidate. It's good I suppose that he's not as anti-American as some in his party, but he is extremely liberal at the end of the day and his party is a hodge-podge of greedy interest groups that will cut him little slack if he really does want to have a "national conversation" about race or anything else.

A real national conversation about race would acknowledge IQ differences, utter incivility among the legions of fatherless black adolescents, the problems of a global information-age IQ when some of our population has an average IQ of 85, the fact of black civliizational advance in the first half of the Twentieth Century and its decline since the Sixties.
